| Morris Posner and Customer |
Morris Posner was my Grandfather, my Mothers Father.
Morris and Molly Posner came to this country from "White Russia". He told stories of being hunted like dogs through fields
while escaping to America. My Grandparents, my Mother and my two Aunts lived in Harlem on 115th street between Park avenue
and Lexington avenue in New York City.

He was a Barber and had his shop in the store front of the building next to the
one they lived in. My Aunts tell me he was a very talented Barber. I remember him as being a very kind gentle man.

There came a time when Harlem was changing from a mix of people who came from
the old countries to a strong population of black people.

My Grandfather's friends (I use the term loosely) and loyal customers told him
if he gave haircuts to black people they would stop going to him.

Everything in his shop was brand new, he spent a lot of money fixing it up but
he deceided to close his shop rather then get in the middle of this problem.
